Hackers could control your computer and delete all your files.

If you own CS:GO or Team Fortress 2, do not play it as your computer will be at risk to malware and potential bricking.

This is a huge security issue for Valve. Although these games came out more than 10 years ago, there is an active community that still regularly plays these titles, mainly through Steam.

Having the source code public is an issue because it gives hackers the ability to search the games' files for exploits and weaknesses to send viruses and malware to any online player. Your computer could be bricked if you choose to play online at all.

Stay safe out there gamers, we are still waiting for Valve's response to this scary security breach.
